What Are Plug-In Electric Cars?

Plug-in electric cars (PHEV) have high performance batteries which store cleaner, cheaper, domestically produced electricity, and an electric motor that provides propulsion with zero emissions. Studies show that half the cars on U.S. roads today are driven 25 miles a day or less. So a plug-in with a 25-mile all electric range could eliminate gasoline use in the daily commute of tens of millions of Americans.
